  | Thanks to the generosity of the business community in the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce area, the TwinWest Foundation announced 58 college scholarships totaling $57,000 to graduating seniors in 2009. On May 21, TwinWest congratulated the award winners representing high school seniors from Benilde-St. Margaret's School, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Providence Academy, Robbinsdale-Armstrong, Robbinsdale-Cooper, St. Louis Park, and Wayzata high schools. These 2009 figures bring the TwinWest Foundation’s total amount of giving since 1982 to more than $650,000 – far and away the most substantial philanthropy among chamber-sponsored scholarship programs in Minnesota. We extend our deep thanks to everyone who has made this possible.

Scholarship programs
To meet the needs of all types of students in our communities, the TwinWest Foundation has established two scholarship programs:
| • | High School Scholarships
We offer variety of scholarships ranging from $500 up to $7,500 to west metro area TwinWest member high schools for graduating seniors who plan to pursue postsecondary education. Students submit applications and are interviewed by a volunteer committee, which selects recipients based on academic performance, school and community involvement, work history and financial need. One Legacy Scholarship in an amount up to $7,500 is awarded to an outstanding graduating high school senior each year. This program was established in 1988 through a $50,000 anonymous contribution from a TwinWest Chamber member. Note to students and school personnel: Applications for the 2009 High School Scholarship program are now available! To download an application, click here. High school seniors will have until January 30, 2009 to return applications to the TwinWest Foundation for consideration. The TwinWest Foundation also offers scholarships to students of all ages attending accredited postsecondary schools. The schools must be members of the TwinWest Chamber (search our member directory here). These scholarships are typically for the amount of $1,000. To download the application, click here.
